The principal objective of any organization today is to reduce the operating expenses of their IT infrastructure while maximizing computing power & resources. Data Center Consolidation Procedure

We follow the following broad steps for the Data Center Virtualization & consolidation for our customers:

  • Physical Consolidation / Densification – Reduce server count by migrating into fewer servers.
  • Data Consolidation – Migrate data from multiple sources into fewer repository.
  • Application Consolidation – Consolidate individual and loose applications into a tightly integrated ERP like solution e.g. SAP, Oracle Apps.
  • Virtualization – Migrate the running physical servers to virtualized environment, where ever feasible.

Analyze Business Processes

A complete inventory of the systems and components at the organization will be taken. The following will be vital in analyzing the business processes:

  • Identify the major business processes for each of the applications
  • Verify if these processes can be combined into one
  • Highlight business processes that cannot be supported by the standard application (standalone features) – adequate solutions need to be put in place for these
Streamline Backend & Support systems

The backend computing, storage, databases of applications, the UI screens and the reports would be rationalized. Interfaces to the external systems will also be identified to integrate within the consolidated systems.

Database Consolidation & Data Migration Strategy
